This upcoming imports screen shows imports that are due to arrive, or that have recently arrived. You can order, preorder, and snipe directly from this screen. The screen is grouped by import#, and will show the projected date of arrival and the vendor the import is from.

Keep in mind that a plant may be listed multiple times on this screen. This is because we have ordered the plant on more than one import. Also note that a plant might show no quantity for ordering or preordering on one import, but there could be quantities available for that plant on another import.

N1Less than 3" diameter898420 $9.99

Imports Nepenthes sp #1
DESCRIPTION: This is a yet to be described new species. The pitchers can be extraordinarily large, and the plant grows very fast into a monster. The pitcher coloration is similar to that of N. sibuyanensis. It becomes a very large and showy plant. It is very easy, quite fast for a highlander, and the pitchers can last for a significant amount of time. It transplants very well, usually without dropping leaves or pitchers. A 6" plant can grow into a 3 foot diameter plant with 15"+ length pitchers in under a year. This plant is highly recommend for those who want monster pitchers in a very short amount of growing time. An added bonus is that the plant does not vine wildly, so it can grow in a height restricted space for quite some time without maintenance, as long as you can accomodate the plants width.

Imports Nepenthes vogelii
DESCRIPTION: A relatively recent addition to cultivation, N. vogelii has lower pitchers that are similar to N. stenophylla. The upper pitchers are quite different, and resemble a colorful eymae upper pitcher. It is a relatively fast grower. Being found from about 1000M-1400M, the plant is an intermediate highlander, and is probably capable of being grown in a wide range of temperatures.

Imports Nepenthes aristolochioides
DESCRIPTION: N. aristolochioides produces very remarkable pitchers, featuring a domed top and side opening. They somewhat resemble upside-down birdhouses made out of gourds. They are colored nicely with pale green pitchers mottled in an etching of burgundy. It is relatively easy to grow when given continual highland conditions. The plant is more of a ultrahighlander, but will grow in intermediate conditions for a short while. However, continued success depends on growing the plant in continual highland conditions.

Import: #98
Vendor: CP Jungle
Arrived: 06/07/2011

Imports Drosera burmanii
DESCRIPTION: Drosera burmanii is an annual. The plant will mature, flower, and die within the same year. You should collect seed or allow the seed to fall back into the pot to make sure you keep the plant going over the years. You can also cut a flower stalk when it first emerges in order to keep the plant from dying off for a few years. The outter tentacles of D. burmanii are known to be able to move to the center of the leaf within a minute. This rapid tentacle movement is likely to get the recently caught prey to the center of the leaf quickly, where other tentacles can grab ahold and begin digestion. This leaves the outter tentacle free to move back into position to snare another victim. You will notice that all captured prey appear to be in the center of the leaf trap, but prey is usually snagged by a long outter tentacle, and transported to the center of the leaf. D. burmanii's are relatively small, and grow to about the size of a quarter to a half dollar coin.

Imports Drosera intermedia Carolina form
DESCRIPTION: These are mature seed grown plants that originated along the Carolina coastline. These plants can reach 4" in diameter. They are temperate, and will die back during the winter. The plant will form hibernacula for the winter, but in extremely cold conditions the hibernacula may die. Even if this occurs, the plant almost certainly will come back from the roots the following year. The plants coloration is normally a jade green with red tentacles, with the entire plant turning red in very bright light.
